Job 27:11 – I WILL TEACH YOU BY THE HAND OF GOD
Job 27:11 I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
Have you ever asked God to expand your borders? Have you ever asked God to give you a more dynamic ministry here on this earth? Have you ever asked God to use you for HIS glory? What did you do in order to prepare yourself for God to answer your petition?
God is not going to bring people into your life to counsel if you have not first prepared yourself to be used by HIM. A soldier who goes into battle without first putting bullets into his gun is not going to be effective. A traveler who refuses to put gas into the gas tank will not go very far. An athlete who does not put food in his system will soon famish. So likewise, a Christian who does not take the time to draw closer to God will not be in a position that they can teach others the ways of God.
If you desire to help others in their relationship with God, then you need to start working in your own life to make sure you spend adequate time studying the things of God. You need to have a vibrant prayer life. You need to spend time each day reading and meditating upon the Bible. As a Christian, if you do not first set aside time to read the Bible and pray, God will not grow your ministry.
Have you ever had a day where reading the Bible was about as exciting as watching paint dry? What did you do? Did you close the Bible and turn on the television and what your favorite show? What did you do? Did you persevere and continue to read the Bible asking God to make HIS word living today?
Every day you have choices that you can make. Every day you chose whether or not you are going to make God a priority. God knows your needs and HE knows the desires of your heart. However, God will not use you to do great things unless you have first taken the time to make HIM a priority in your life.
God did not make David king because he was a good looking boy who was the first born in a noble family in Israel. No, God chose David because king first took the time to develop a heart after God’s own heart. Was David perfect? No. Did David ever lose contact with what God desired him to do? Yes. But when God sent a prophet to confront David, David repented and acknowledged that God was the desire of his heart.
Just because David had a heart after God’s own heart, it does not mean that life was simple and uncomplicated. David found himself on numerous occasions stay just one step ahead of Saul who desired to kill him. David found himself living with the enemies of Israel to stay out of the grasps of Saul. Why did a man who had a heart after God’s own heart suffer so much? The answer is simple, because God needed him to suffer so that he was prepared to lead Israel. God needed David to suffer so that he would write beautiful Psalms that would encourage others in their time of distress.
When things are not going your way, be patient and remember that God has not written the last chapter yet. Remember that God will soon reveal to you why HE has allowed you to suffer the way you did. Remember that God has a wonderful ministry prepared for you that requires you to first spend adequate time with HIM. Make God a priority and watch what HE does next.
