Act 7:22 – MOSES WAS LEARNED
Act 7:22 And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.
Stephen was given the opportunity to explain to the religious leaders why the words that he spoke were not blasphemy. In this passage, Stephen reminds the religious leaders how there was an order to kill all the baby boys. God had a plan for Moses’ life and God knew that 80 years after his birth, Moses would be leading the nation of Israel out of Egypt. Because of the great responsibilities that Moses was going to have, God gave Moses a different education then most Hebrew boys would have received.
One could have taken a brief snapshot of Moses’ life and wondered what God was doing with the life of Moses. God did not make a mistake. God orchestrated events in Moses’ life to prepare Moses for the perfect plan that HE had for Moses.
When Moses was coming back to Egypt in order to lead the nation of Israel out, Moses had an argument with God about how he needed Aaron to be his spokesman. However, in this verse, we learn that because of the experiences that God gave to Moses, Moses was already mighty in words. God had given Moses the tools that he needed to do the job even though Moses did not recognize the fact.
How often do we look through the events in our life today and complain to God about the terrible circumstances that we are facing. We need to learn that God is in control and we need to be patient with God to reveal to us why we had to suffer. The time spend in the valley has a purpose. We may not understand it at the time, but if we wait on the Lord, God will be able to reveal to us HIS perfect plan.
It is very easy to sit back and complain about what we think is not fair. Moses was not raised by his family, instead he was raised by a bunch of Egyptians. It may only take us a few minutes to read through the story of Moses but we forget all the years of waiting that Moses experienced. 40 years of wondering in the wilderness is a long time as a punishment for someone else’s lack of faith. Nonetheless, this was God’s plan for Moses and God was glorified by Moses’ patience.
What experiences are you facing today that are frustrating? Do you sit and complain to God about how HE is not blessing you as you believe HE should? It does not take a Bible scholar to understand that God allowed almost every single great individual of the Bible to go through a time of patience in their life. Abraham had to wait until he was 100 to have the promised son; Joseph had to spend sever years as a slave and a prisoner, and David had to run for his life for many years as he waited for God to make HIM king.
God knew HIS perfect plan for Moses. God knew the plans that HE had for Moses. God knew when HE was going to make Moses a great leader. Moses did not know all that God was going to do through his life, but just because Moses did not understand the entire plan of God, that does not mean that God was not working in his life.
Stop what you are doing right this minute and praise God for the trials that you are facing. You may not understand what God is doing through you but God does. When you do not understand the plans of God, rather than complaining, learn to start praising HIM that HE does not make a mistake and HE knows what is best for you.
