Ephesians 4:7 – GRACE ACCORDING TO THE MEAUSRE

Ephesians 4:7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

Have you ever said that you would not be strong enough to boldly proclaim Christ in the middle of the Coliseum? Have you ever wondered how you would handle yourself if you were about to be killed for the sake of Christ? You find yourself living in a world where you only experience minor persecution for the name of Christ. You do not like pain and what would you do if all of a sudden, you were watching your family die in front of your eyes because you refused to renounce the name of Jesus Christ.

You must remember that this is not the trial that God has planned for you and as such, you do not need the grace to endure a situation that you are not facing today. God’s grace is sufficient. God knows the trials and temptations that you are facing and HE is faithful to give you the grace that you need in order to endure the trials that are before you today.

You do not need the grace of Daniel to boldly stand up and pray when he knew the result would be death in the lion’s den. You do not need the grace of David to boldly proclaim to a warrior twice your size and many more times your experience that you are going to defeat them that day. You do not need the grace of Elijah to come before King Ahab and proclaim that because of his wickedness, it was not going to rain on the earth.

You must remember that you are not facing the trials of Daniel, David, and Elijah. You are facing the trials that God has for you and you need to be faithful to HIM where HE has placed you today.

God has not called you to build an ark and tell the nations of the world that God is going to destroy the whole earth with a flood. God has not called you to take 300 men and lead them into battle against a force many times greater than your own. God has not called you to preach to the religious leaders of your day and convict them of their sins and be stoned to death as Stephen was called to do.

God’s grace is sufficient for you. Christ commanded us that we are not to worry about tomorrow and what a day may bring forth. Instead, your focus needs to be on today and what God would have you do today. The trials for today are sufficient and God has given you the grace to live through today. Learn to accept the grace of God that HE has given you today. Do not wonder how you would handle the trials of another because that is not a trial God has given you and thus HE has not given you the grace to suffer that trial.

You must learn to keep your focus upon the life that God has given you to live. Stop worrying about others and what God is doing through them. Instead, focus your life upon what God is calling you to do and your life purpose. Do not let the things of this world distract you but instead remained focused upon HIM knowing that HE has given you the grace to live your life one day at a time.

The world will try to distract you by getting you to focus upon the trials of others. You must add temperance to your life and keep your focus upon what God has put in front of you today. Do not allow the world to focus your attention away from the things of God. God is faithful and HE will give you the grace that you need when you need it most.
