WE ARE ALL WITNESSES – Acts 2:32

Acts 2:32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we are all witnesses.

Peter is preaching on the day of Pentecost. In this passage we see that Peter is sharing with the multitude his testimony that God has given him. The testimony is simple; he has seen Jesus raised from the dead. It is a simple testimony, but it is a testimony of the power of God that gives him the authority to share with others why they should accept Jesus Christ as their Lord.

God makes sure that HIS followers have testimonies that they can share with others to draw the attention of the world to HIM. You may not have a testimony like Peter who actually saw Jesus die and then saw HIM alive again, but God has given you your own testimony. The nation of Israel during the time of Moses did not see Jesus die, but they did see the power of God in their lives. The testimony of God parting the Red Sea and destroying the armies of the Egyptians was still being told 40 years later as the nation of Israel was finally entering the Promise Land.

You are to be the light unto the world. This does not mean that you are drawing attention to yourself, but that you are drawing attention to God. When the world sees you, they need to see the power and love of God. When people speak with you, do they hear of the power of God in your life? Are you like Peter who when he spoke, drew the attention of everyone to the power of God? Do not be like Nebuchadnezzar who wanted everyone to focus upon him and his power.

God has shown HIMSELF strong in your life. Have you taken the time to recognize HIS hand upon your life? Have you taken the time to tell others of the things that God has done through you? Satan is a crafty enemy. He will try to minimize in your mind the things that God is doing through you. He will try to help you mentally explain the things away so that you do not give God the credit that HE deserves.

Stop and think about it. Every day, God gives you the ability to live. God created you and made you so that you live off of the air that this world produces. Satan desires that people believe it all happened by chance so as to cause others not to give credit to God for the way HE made us. When you add knowledge of the ways of God to your life, you will take the time to recognize the things God has done for you. You learn not to take things for granted but instead, in all your ways acknowledge HIM. You allow your life to reflect the light of God.

When was the last time you shared a testimony of what God has done in your life with others? How can you expect to be a light unto the world if you do not take the time to tell the world of the power of God? The world needs to see living examples of the power of God; they do not get examples of the power of God by looking at their own sinful lives.

God has given you a testimony. Most likely HE will not have you share that testimony the first time in front of 3,000 people. Nonetheless, the testimony is not given to you for you to hoard, the testimony is given to you so that you might share with others and draw the attention of the world to God. Every day you need to be quick to share with those who God brings into your life those things that HE has done to deepen your relationship with HIM.

Do not let Satan deceive you; God is alive today. There is no problem that you face that God is not aware of. Instead of being discouraged by the adversity that you are facing; look to God and understand that God will use this trial that you face as an opportunity to help others draw closer to HIM. Change your focus and start looking for ways that God might use you.
