FAITH IS SPIRITUAL AND CANNOT BE FULLY UNDERSTOOD – 1 Corinthians 2:5
I Corinthians 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
Faith is not meant to be understood. You cannot squeeze faith into your own little box. Instead, faith is something that is greater then you. Faith is from the power of God and it is HIS power that enables us to do the impossible for HIM.
By your own understanding you cannot figure out how Peter walked on water, how Jesus feed 5,000, and how Elijah called fire out of heaven. You cannot figure faith out because it is not something that can be comprehended by human understanding.
Faith can only be understood if you listen with your heart rather then your mind. Faith is spiritual and you should not try to figure it out. It is not for you to figure out how God speaks to one person. It is not for you to figure out how God leads another. You cannot analyze God with your human understanding. God and faith are so far beyond your human comprehension that you will drive yourself crazy if you try to figure it out.
Faith is of God and you will probably never fully understand it. Do not try to figure God out. Do not try to hear what God might be trying to do before it happens. Instead, simply obey God and follow the direction that HE is leading.
If you are in a foreign country and you do not know the language, you cannot expect to understand what people are saying. You cannot demand that everyone stop speaking their native tongue and start speaking in your language so that you understand what they are saying. You would be rude to have the audacity to demand that they speak your language in their country when you have made no efforts to learn their language. If you have at least made an effort to learn their language, they will be willing to help you communicate with them better by offering you help in your language.
You are never going to understand faith as long as you try to see it with the wisdom of man. You are human and faith is spiritual. Some people will understand faith better then others because they have made an effort to live more of their life in the spiritual world. However, no matter how much time one spends on spiritual things, faith will always be higher then our human understanding. Faith will require that one lay aside their human understanding and take God at HIS word.
It is an exciting place to be, living by faith. It is like being in a foreign country. Everything is different and strange. You may not understand everything going on around you. Nonetheless, the longer you stay, the more comfortable you become. God desires that your faith stands in HIS power. You will not be able to understand faith if you see it with your human eyes. Instead, you must allow God to give you HIS spiritual glasses to enable you to see that which HE has for you. Faith is of God and you must draw close to God if you are going to fully comprehend it. Make it your goal today to live by faith. Make it your goal not to try to understand why God is doing something but instead take the time to simply learn more of God. Your faith is spiritual, allow God to teach you to grow spiritually. You cannot grow spiritually if you try to understand faith with human understanding.
